According to the data on the official website of CPCA, 42000 pickup trucks were sold in the national pickup truck market in January 2022, down 11.8% year-on-year and 28.9% month on month. With the strong support of the national automobile three guarantees policy and the right of way policy for pickup consumption, and the joint promotion of the introduction of passenger pickup products by the main vehicle enterprises and the increasingly active pickup culture, although the epidemic has lasted for more than two years, pickup consumption has still picked up strongly and increased for two consecutive years, i.e. 36% in January 2021 compared with January 2019 and 20% in January 2022 compared with January 2019. This is precious compared with the downturn of China’s light truck market.
Despite the uncertain pressure on COVID-19, coupled with the downturn in engineering demand brought about by the adjustment of real estate, the pickup market has maintained a strong vitality in recent years, and the main pickup manufacturers have seen a comprehensive and rapid growth. After the growth of Great Wall pickup truck in 2020, Great Wall pickup truck will continue to maintain a strong leading position in 2022, and SAIC Maxus and JAC motor have achieved a good start.
